Tourism in the faroe islands
The Faroese Tourist guide writes that the Faroe Islands are “the world's most appealing destination”, referring to a comprehensive survey of 111 island communities throughout the world conducted by the National Geographic Traveller and National Geographic Center for Sustainable Destinations in 2007.
The Faroe Islands came out first as the most appealing destination in the world, earning these remarks from the panel: “Lovely unspoiled islands, a delight to the traveller.” The islands also earned high marks for nature preservation, historic architecture and local pride.
