Greenland is the new land of opportunities and we welcome investments from abroad.

On the 21st June 2009 - on Greenland's National Day - Greenland introduced Self Governance. Self Governance increases Greenlandic auto-nomy and gradually allows Greenlanders a greater say over our own affairs. This is a new and exciting period for Greenland which will bring both opportunities and challenges.

Greenland has strong competitive advantages in the areas of fishing and hunting, mineral resources, tourism and the ser-vice industry. There are plenty of opportunities for investment in these international growth sectors. Changes to legislation and schemes to promote trade are being implemented in order to make it easy and attractive for foreign companies to establish themselves in Greenland.

Today tourists from all over the world come to Greenland to experience Greenland's nature and the unique Greenlandic culture. Greenland offers out-standing adventures for tourists wishing to experience the wilderness of the arctic climate or the peace and calm of the inland fiords. Development and investment potential is great in particular with regard to infrastructure and once-in-a-lifetime tourist experiences.

Greenland has an abundance of mineral and natural resources, as well as unlimited hydropower resources. We have a stable political climate and a well-functioning infrastructure, both in the transport of people and cargo and in IT. Greenland today is a modern, industrialized country, which offers a range of business opportunities. We have one of the most modern fleets of fishing vessels in the world and a large industry exporting high quality seafood products to markets all over the world.

The Government of Greenland cooperates closely with industry and other stakeholders to create the optimal conditions for future business in petroleum, mineral and ice and water production as well as hydro-electricity. We have a long-term aim of making mineral and petroleum resources one of the primary industries of a future Greenland. We therefore provide many new and varied opportunities for the mineral and petroleum exploration industry backed up by a well-educated workforce and infrastructure.
